About William Forsythe

William Forsythe (*1949, New York) has been active in the field of choreography for over 50 years. His work is acknowledged for reorienting the practice of ballet from its identification with classical repertoire to a dynamic 21st century art form. About Jone San Martin Astigarraga

Jone San Martin Astigarraga was born in Donostia, the Basque Country. Since
2015 she lives In Berlin. She is a dancer, performer, choreographer, and teacher of the Improvisation Technologies developed together with William Forsythe, and Forsythe’s repertoire teacher. After working as a freelance in Spain and Belgium, she joined in 1992 “The Ballet Frankfurt “ under the direction of William Forsythe until 2004, and in 2005 she joined “The Forsythe Company” until 2015. About this Course

This workshop is exclusively for SHARE The Dance Intensive. Each day will begin with a warm-up led by Jone on the improvisation technologies lasting 1h to 1h30 min to then continue with a 4 hours repertoire workshop on the work of William Forsythe.

January 18th, 2025, 9 a.m - 2 p.m

Application Requirements

Dancers submitting their application need to have a strong dance technique and physicality and/or any other background that supports their participation in this workshop.

  • All Applicants must be professional or pre-professional dancers, movers, or performers, with a minimum age of 16 years old.

  • You must provide a maximum of 1-minute video link (Vimeo or Youtube) of your dancing either improvising or choreographed solo. No group piece. No Instagram or Facebook link.

  • A full detailed resume is to be uploaded (max 15Mb) or via a weblink (google drive, website, etc...)

Acceptance

 

Accepted dancers will be informed within 3 days by email with all the further steps to take to join us.
