SHARE Study
In this study program, you will have the unique opportunity to engage yourself with the choreographic language of Akram Khan, led by Jasper Narvaez, an Akram Khan company dancer. Over the course of six days, you will study and explore a large aspect of Akram Khan's company repertoire through a combination of research, development of choreographic material, and repertoire. This is a perfect program and opportunity to learn more about Akram’s broadly acclaimed work during SHARE | Festival ’24!
Aligning with the high standards of our existing programs, SHARE Intensive and SHARE Workshops, SHARE Study is designed with professional or pre-professional dancers, movers, or performers in mind.
About Jasper Narvaez
Jasper is a Filipino dance artist based in London, UK. He started training at the Philippine High School for the Arts and Ballet Philippines Dance School, later on obtaining a BFA with First-Class Honours at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. He then worked as a performer with the Akram Khan Company, AURA Dance Theatre, Jukstapoz Company and as a guest teacher/artist for Rambert, Henny Jurriëns Studio, Clod Ensemble, English National Ballet and Ballet Philippines among others. He joined Akram Khan Company in 2019 and has since been in the productions Outwitting the Devil, Chotto Xenos and KAASH Revival.

All Applicants must be professional or pre-professional dancers, movers, or performers, with a minimum age of 16 years old.

You must provide a maximum of 1-minute video link (Vimeo or Youtube) of your dancing either improvising or choreographed solo. No group piece. No Instagram or Facebook link.

Study Description
Beginning with a warm-up developed through AKC’s movement vocabulary, dancers will be able to explore their own creativity through exercises and tasks focusing on rhythm, speed, cycles and silence. The 6 days study will develop into learning choreographic phrases from Akram Khan Company repertoire.
Acceptance
Within 2 days after receiving your application form, we will send our response via email. 7 days to pay your tuition is required once our email is sent. Every un-paid application is canceled on the 8th day at 9 am.
You can pay via Credit Card or Offline by bank transfer.

Application Requirements
All applicants must be professional or pre-professional dancers, movers, or performers, with a minimum age of 16 years old. No amateurs will be accepted!
We need a recent and clear video link of your dancing (Vimeo or Youtube). We need to see your dancing, physicality, and artistic potential. We highly recommend a simple in-studio improvisation.

A full detailed resume or CV is to be uploaded (max 15Mb) or attached as a weblink (Google Drive, website, wetransfer). Any application not fully completed will be automatically canceled.
Deadline
On the first come first served basis, within the limited places we have.
Acceptance / Group Assignment
Accepted and non-accepted dancers will be notified by email within 2 working days of receiving your application.
Payment
Once you receive our confirmation email, an invoice is automatically sent in a separate email (check your spam box). This one is valid for 7 days and is automaticaly deleted by the platform if unpaid on the 8 day at 9 a.m. Berlin time (check your spam box).
