Audition – Full – Time Dance Artist with T.H.E Dance Company (Singapore)

Singapore’s T.H.E Dance Company is seeking a full-time male dance artist to join the company from 2026 onwards.

The Human Expression (T.H.E) Dance Company was founded in 2008 by Artistic Director Kuik Swee Boon. Rooted firmly in Singapore while universal in its perspective, T.H.E’s contemporary dance works reveal the body as a medium for exploring and celebrating the human condition.

Dance artists at T.H.E are immersed in the company’s signature HollowBody methodology, which guides them to access their deeper instincts and impulses through movement. The vocabulary is distinct in its intensely personal aesthetics and thrilling in its diversity. Driven by a sincere desire to uncover the intricate, complex and often times overlooked dimensions of human existence, the company’s incisive observations are an essential mirror to the issues and rhythms of contemporary life.

We’re now seeking a full-time male dance artist to join us from 2026 onwards.

Criteria: 18 years old and above; minimum height of 175cm.

– Ability to contribute creatively in the development of our practice and repertoire

– Malleability in movement with potential to embody the HollowBody methodology

– Strong performance presence and authentic movement dynamics

– An openness to work closely with others

– Confidence and resilience

– You will be informed by 17 May 2025 if you are selected for the audition.

– Selected candidates will be invited to join us for an in-person audition and interview on Tuesday, 24 June 2025, from 10am–5pm at T.H.E’s dance studio (Goodman Arts Centre, 90 Goodman Road, Block M, #01-54, Singapore 439053).

– The audition will consist of a technique class, HollowBody workshop, as well as repertoire learning and improvisation (including a 1-hour lunch break).

– Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a one-on-one interview with Artistic Director Kuik Swee Boon from 5pm–6pm.

Costs for participants:

There is no audition application fee. Applicants selected for the in-person audition who aren’t based in Singapore will need to cover their own travel and accommodation costs.
