Shani Licht

Barak Marshall

Shani Licht was born in Israel in 1994. She grew up in Jerusalem and studied at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and its conservatory. In the summer of 2011 she took part in the Israel-Italy “Dance is Culture” project and worked with choreographers Adi Salant and Mauro Astolfi. During 2011-2012, she also participated in the Batsheva program for outstanding students. In 2012, she was recognized by the Israeli government as an “Outstanding Dancer.”
From 2012-2014, Shani performed as a dancer in the Batsheva Ensemble.

After leaving Batsheva, Shani worked as an independent dancer with the Israeli choreographer Ronit Ziv and then joined Inbal Dance Theater, directed by Barak Marshall, for the 2014-2015 season. In 2016 Shani joined Vertigo Dance Company under the artistic direction of Noa Wertheim. Alongside her work in Vertigo, she has worked with independent choreographers Ido Gidron and Geva Zeibert.
