About Sandra Marín Garcia
Sandra Marín Garcia graduated in dance at Escola Superior de Dansa i Coreografia de l’Institut del Teatre in Barcelona. She danced in companies such as Cullberg Ballet and Netherlands Dance Theatre I, working with choreographers such as Mats Ek, Jiri Kylián, Johan Inger and Crystal Pite, amongst others. Sandra joined Kidd Pivot in August 2010 and ever since she combined her dancing career with different projects as a freelance performer, teacher and choreographer. More
Application Requirements

All Applicants must be professional or pre-professional dancers, movers, or performers, with a minimum age of 16 years old.

You must provide a maximum of 1-minute video link (Vimeo or Youtube) of your dancing either improvising or choreographed solo. No group piece. No Instagram or Facebook link.

Acceptance
Accepted dancers will be informed within 3 days by email with all the further steps to take to join us.

SHARE Study
In this study program, you will have the unique opportunity to engage yourself with the choreographic language of Crystal Pite and Kidd Pivot improvisation tools led by Sandra M Garcia, a former Kidd Pivot company dancer, and stager. Over 6 days you will study and explore a large aspect of Kidd Pivot improvisation tools and Crystal Pite repertoire through a combination of research, development of choreographic material, and repertoire. This is a perfect program and opportunity to learn more about Crystal Pite’s broadly acclaimed work during SHARE | Festival ’24! Aligning with the high standards of our existing programs SHARE Intensive and SHARE Workshops, SHARE Study is designed with professional or pre-professional dancers, movers, or performers in mind.
About Crystal Pite
In a choreographic career spanning three decades, Crystal Pite has created more than 50 works for dance companies in Canada and around the world. She is the founding artistic director of the Vancouver-based company Kidd Pivot, world-renowned for radical hybrids of dance and theatre that are assembled with a keen sense of wit and invention. Ms. Pite is known for works that courageously address such challenging and complex themes as trauma, addiction, conflict, consciousness and mortality; her bold and original vision has earned her international acclaim and inspired an entire generation of dance artists.
